Arlo Guthrie (born 10th July 1947, Brooklyn, New York ) is an American folk singer who is the son of folk singer and composer Woody Guthrie and his wife Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, a one-time professional dancer with the Martha Graham Company and founder of The Committee to Combat Huntington's Disease.

Folk legend Arlo Guthrie celebrated a lifetime of music at The Birchmere on a recent evening billed as a commemoration of his debut 1967 album, Alices Restaurant.
Before launching into "This Land is Your Land," Arlo Guthrie recalled how his father taught him this song when he was just eight or nine. His father, however, wasn't just any father, but the father of protest folk music, Woody Guthrie.
The best classic rock acts, instead of doing that, plow forward with all they can muster, rewarding audiences with the same intensity that won them over in the first place.
And with that, Arlo Guthrie launched into Alice’s Restaurant Massacree at Bass Hall on Thursday night, reminding a crowd of about 1,400 what their youth felt and sounded like.
