Beirut is an American indie-rock and world music band which was originally the solo musical project of Zach Condon (born Zachary Francis Condon in Santa Fe, New Mexico) and later expanded into a band. The band's first performances were in New York, in May 2006, to support the release of their debut album, Gulag Orkestar.

Whilst it is perplexing, if not impossible to agree upon the genres and categories of music Beirut belong to; it is almost impossible not to ascertain that there is something captivating, unique, special and mesmerising about their sound.
For sixth album Gallipoli Condon relocated to Berlin from New York and wrote and recorded most of it in Europe and it has a freshness and energy you’d expect from such a change in environment. They play most of it tonight, interspersed with moments from their older records.
