The multilingual psychedelic funk band, Khruangbin, stood out among the rest of Saturday's performances at Boston Calling. Following an afternoon of distinctly twang and folk acts, the Texas trio brought their idiosyncratic sound to the festival.
Khruangbin brought their trademark groovy sound and amazing vibes to a sold-out Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA, on August 15th, 2024. The band, whose unique music fuses elements of funk, soul, psychedelia, and surf rock, is touring in support of their most recent release, A LA SALA.
The universe smiled upon Toronto this weekend. Psych-rock masters Khruangbin were in town to get the people everywhere grooving to their silky smooth sounds. Friday night was the first of three sold out shows in the city. They are joined by John Carroll Kirby and his jazz ensemble.
Khruangbin make music on the Astral Plane. In the course of ninety minutes, they travel on a seamless magic carpet ride of musical styles, touching down on many genres East and West.
