Ocean proves he is still a rare musical talent, but this set at the Albert Hall was let down by sound issues
Years passed, trends changed, and outside of the occasional recording or tour overseas, his visibility lessened in the US, though none of that stopped the oldies from staying in regular rotation on radio.
As the band started up the star of the show danced his way onto the stage with a cream suit that complemented his tied back dreads. Opening with a bouncy ‘Are You Ready’, his voice sounded surprisingly rich. He sparred with the backing singers (who included his daughter Cherie and former Raw Stylus vocalist D
The 65-year-old opened the performance with Stand Up to which the whole crowd cheered and applauded when his eight-piece accompaniment began the immaculate melody.
