So, apart from a brief band reunion at 2005’s Live8 concert, Floyd-heads have had little to keep them happy apart from periodic album reissues for the best part of a generation.
Yes the likes of Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac were and are bone fide stadium bands but crucially their music is pretty adaptable and can be played anywhere.
Every audience that turns up for a gig at the famous Liverpool venue is one that is considered be discerning and not given to spontaneity unless it’s truly and utterly deserved.
