Chairlift was an electro-pop band formed in 2005 in Boulder, Colorado, United States. The band consisted of Caroline Polachek (vocals, keyboards) and Patrick Wimberly (bass, drums).
And following an outing of the new album at Hackney’s Oslo venue in December, the group were back in London for one of only two European stops, this time hitting up King’s Cross’s historic Scala venue.
An oddly breezy night may have contributed to a lighter than expected crowd for Chairlift’s Saturday show in downtown Phoenix, or it could be the fact that the weekend coincided with the first weekend of Coachella.
With both Laneway Festival and Big Day Out currently touring nationally Sydney has seen its fair share of both sideshows and festivals these past couple of weeks and one could say we are absolutely spoiled for choice music-wise at the moment.
Underground hits in their home state of New York the bands quickly reached international airwaves with singles Bruises (as featured in an Apple ad campaign) and 15 to 20 respectively.
