After a two year hiatus thanks to pandemic-induced cancellations, Desertfest London is back with a bang! As the UK’s premier festival for doom, stoner, sludge and everything inbetween, as we descend onto the famous Camden Town, excitement is rife.
Whisper it quietly, but the UK might actually be having a ‘gig season' for the first time in eighteen months. Although not an official term, this timespan begins around September and finishes in May, neatly leaving the summer free for festival appearances.
When festival season was wiped out last year thanks to the raging COVID-19 pandemic, for us music fans, it felt a hammerblow with our summer being quiet and solitary away from the buzz of a packed crown or the roar of amplified noise on an outdoor stage.
