Every January for the last handful of years, Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven have toured the Northeast....

Lowery is the common founding member of Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven, two California bands with distinctly different sounds, connected by the thread of Lowery’s trademark nasal snarl and unmatched lyrical style.

It is interesting to see which bands will crawl out of an era and which fall by the wayside.

The fans were indeed in their forties and the venue in front of the alley was New York’s classy City Winery (QRO venue review) on Friday August 12th.

Maybe it was passing on seeing Nirvana that one time or watching Conor Oberst (as Bright Eyes) melt down completely on stage.

Thankfully he is made of sterner stuff fighting nostalgia by continuing to create credible new material in both outfits.
