Guitarist Steve Marion launched his music career more than a decade ago in his bedroom in Fredon, New Jersey. Using his electric guitar and his computer, he recorded several original instrumental compositions under his stage name, Delicate Steve.
Crystallized bursts of Afro-pop and subdued psychedelic rhythms flourished against a colorful palate of classical tonalities that fluctuated between genres that breached everything from Indian classical music to classic rock riffs.
The multi-instrumentalist, most known for his melodic guitar work, treated us to an energetic and interactive performance of twangy, 70s pop-inspired tunes.
We caught his solo show earlier in the year around the time his wonderful new album This Is Steve was released via Anti Records and were ecstatic when we found he he was coming back for another headlining gig at Brooklyn Bowl on July 6.
