They managed to fit in a new song into their set - a sign that there is indeed more to come from the band that features Austin's own Britt Daniel (Spoon) and Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs).
Support band The Delta Riggs definitely look the part of a rock band with shaggy-mop hair and tight jeans, and then you hear them and realise they have the credentials to match.
As the concertgoers, some of them wet from the elements and others clutching dutifully to used umbrellas, streamed into the Logan Square Auditorium, there was a sense of palpable excitement in the air despite the gloominess outside.
