Don McGlashan (born 18 July 1959) is a New Zealand composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist who has been a member of bands such as Blam Blam Blam, The Front Lawn, and The Mutton Birds before going solo. Don McGlashan is currently in the throes of his “Take it to the Bridge” tour, and on the night it touched down in Napier, there was magic in the air indeed.
As the eighth Hawkes Bay Arts Festival gets within sight of the closing straight, NZ music royalty, in the form of Don McGlashan has made an appearance.
The Hopetoun Alpha is a lovely little venue, but it only holds about 300 or so people for a sit-down concert, so tickets for this first show of Don McGlashan’s tour quickly disappeared.
