Donny and Marie Osmond give The Venue a glitzy Christmas gift
The night ends with the siblings’ most recent hit, Beautiful Life, which is slightly too world peace, but the audience lap it up, clearly satisfied with the nostalgia infused evening. The duo are enthusiastic and charming and the set eclectic, a glittering medley of rock, country, opera and theatre.
Considering that his solo career dates back to 1972 it seems impossible that this is his first British solo show - but apparently it has taken him until now to feel confident about playing without his brothers and Marie.
Donny Osmond began his career as a clean-cut heart-throb at the age of five after an appearance on The Andy Williams Show turned him into the Osmonds’ resident cutie pie and 54 years later he clearly sees no point in changing.
Four years later, Donny was back at the ECHO Arena for a solo celebration of more than 50 years in the business of show, which began at the age of five on The Andy Williams Show - and he was on peak form.
