Esme Patterson lights up the 7th Street Entry – 8/1/2016

Esme Patterson played on the 3rd of December in the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.

In 1977, Townes Van Zandt sang of “Loretta,” a waitress in a bar that he comes around to romance on occasion.

Opening up with “Find It,” Patterson made it clear from the get go that she and her band were here to have fun.

There’s something formidable about Esme Patterson; she takes over a room, and Saturday night at the Larimer Lounge was no exception.

It seemed like the tiny PRX stage could hardly contain the volume that Patterson and her band created, especially when they closed out their set with a song from the new record called “Feel Right.” It had a heavier sound than the other four tracks, certainly living up to the title of “wild.”
