Nestled below corporate buildings and next door to Google's HQ sits Lafayette, a new stripped-back venue. On a wet Tuesday it's mobbed, the folks from these parts desperate for unadorned tales of small-town Kentucky: of gravel banks on river bends; mountain wine; black top crews and broken Vietnam veterans.
The first time I saw Ian Noe, he was opening for Colter Wall in London UK. I got there early, hoping to get nice and close to stage to see Colter do his thing.
Singer-songwriter Ian Noe displayed his authentic Kentuckian bonafides as well as a shrewd sense of the greater world in a fantastic set at the Songbyrd Music House recently.
