Another fine night as part of the Future Juke festival. This time a three band show featuring Ian Siegal playing solo acoustic on an exclusively pre-war Blues session.
Born in Fareham in 1971, it’s been said that if Siegal had been performing and recording in the 1960s, his name would likely now resonate alongside such luminaries as Joe Cocker and Van Morrison.
There are only a handful of artists out there who could ever warrant such generous praise in this case it is Britain’s very own Ian Siegal and his American comrade-in-crime Jimbo Mathus.
This is the third time I’ve seen Ian Siegal in the last few months but the first time with a band around him and while he was delightful as support for Jack Bruce & North Mississippi Allstars he was in his element as headliner and played a helluva set for the assembled throng.
