Critic Consensus
Based on 15 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that Illy is rated as an impressive live performer, with many notable strengths. Illy concert reviews describe live shows and performances as cinematic.
The Monday night concluding a four-day weekend is a ghastly time to play and Illy knew it at this week's Factory Summer Festival show at Perth's Metro City.
The first of three sold-out album release launch shows for his fifth studio album, ‘Two Degrees’, the Brisbane show would be the first time that the thirteen track album would be performed live, track by track, front to back.
He happily informed the packed house at The Gov (12 March) – for the last show of his national tour – that his eagerly anticipated new album was just two weeks away from completion.
Touring off the back of the re-release of his enormous ‘Cinematic’ album of last year, and also coinciding with the release of his new single, ‘One For The City’ (hence why he’s touring the capital cities) Illy is in Brisbane tonight (Friday 5 December).
Playing to a sold out Metro Theatre he poured every single bit of himself into his performance showcasing his latest LP – and the tour’s namesake – Cinematic in full alongside a whole heap of tracks from his impressive portfolio.
