It depicted the overall tone quite well, which was simple, with images and landscapes of a rural and forlorn country.
And while Three Legs was extremely strong with one of the backing singers receiving about as much applause as Dylan, that ultimately brought into question whether Dylan could hold his own.
However, as people and musicians are known to do, Dylan has evolved into something of which both pop and more seasoned audiences can equally appreciate.

The only frustrating thing about Women and Country was that the gentle, organic music was packaged and promoted as a major label release when (we thought) it would have been better served as an indie effort.
Playing songs mostly from his latest release, Women + Country and 2008's Seeing Things, the evening proved to be as melancholy as the slow moving transition from one depressing song to the next.
