Jen Cloher is an Australian folk rock singer-songwriter, currently based in Melbourne, Victoria. Originally from Adelaide, Cloher originally moved to Sydney to pursue a degree at NIDA.
Jen Cloher was met with a very warm welcome at the Green Door Store. First time back in Brighton since a stripped-back solo guitar performance at Komedia in 2018, this time Cloher was here in force with, in most parts, a newly formed band.
Cloher is supported by Lady Lyon who delivers a flawless masterclass of sumptuous country rock and Second Idol a band that is growing in stature and has developed into one of the premier alt-rock bands in Sydney. Both bands mention how honoured they are to be opening for the legendary Cloher tonight.
Cloher is a natural storyteller, often following up a tragic, real-life tale with some comic relief. Her instinctive feel for guitar is also showcased in this solo acoustic setting.
