Jimmy Webb (born August 15, 1946 in Elk City, Oklahoma) is an idiosyncratic American popular music composer. Jimmy Webb is responsible for writing numerous popular and Top 10 hits sung by a disparate group of artists, including Glen Campbell ("Galveston"); Art Garfunkel ("All I Know"); Donna Summer and many others.

After seeing him in concert, I better understand why and how Jimmy Webb has created million selling records for everyone from Glen Campbell to the Highwaymen (Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson.)
Jimmy Webb is, without a doubt, a songwriter of some high ability even if he's not best known for what are his most interesting compositions. His reputation in the UK has been burnished in recent years by appearances on “Later…” and “Songwriters Circle” where he has been able to mix songs with some autobiography
Shortly afterwards when he started writing songs the youngster would pray to write a song as good as that and meet someone like Glen Campbell who can sing it.
