Joan As Police Woman put on a show in Avondale last night that was both exquisite and shambolic. The music was wonderful, but there were a few glitches.
With a career spanning across three decades, New Yorker Joan As Police Woman (aka Joan Wasser) really needs no introduction. The singer-songwriter has become critically acclaimed and widely adored for her genre-defying sound and distinctive voice, and having seen her perform live it is immediately evident why.
On this windy and chilly Saturday night (4 June), I welcome the warm and moody embrace enveloping me as I enter the atmospheric interior of The Tivoli (in Brisbane).
