Every bit the pop icon La Grange’s performance is engaging and well prepared punchy drums give Fly a new energy in comparison to the heavily produced recorded version.
Supported by Sons of Lovers and Storybooks – who hardly fitted the stage that was made to look like a forest (with branches and flowers picked by the main act herself) La Grange came onstage and created a supernatural feel about the venue.
Since the mid-90s eager crowds have packed into the tiny first-floor room of this 200-year-old pub to get a close-up of future stars such as Amy Winehouse the Strokes and Florence and the Machine.
