Laura Cantrell (born 16 July 1967 in Nashville, Tennessee) is a country singer-songwriter and radio DJ. Beginning in 1993, she presented a weekly country and old-time music radio show on WFMU called The Radio Thrift Shop (although since October 2005 she has only made occasional appearances on the station).

Tonight's much anticipated concert by Laura Cantrell had created such a demand for tickets that the fantastic people at ‘Cosmic American Music' who are responsible for putting on much of the best live music in the city, had to upgrade the venue from The Old Cold Store to the extremely desirable Metronome
The purity of her approach to country music has never wavered; she respects and embraces its history while writing sturdy thoughtful songs that can sound deceptively simple.
