“This city is a very special place for us. It’s the first city where we ever sold out a venue on tour, and it feels like you bring that same energy every time we come back,” Lucy Dacus said mid-way through her dynamic show at Oakland’s Fox Theater on November 17th.
For the casual Rising Festival fan, US singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus was probably not an artist on the radar for many, even as a headliner at the Forum.
Lucy Dacus brought her Home Video Tour to New Zealand last night with the first of four shows taking place at Auckland’s Classic Hollywood Cinema in Avondale.
SOAK was fantastic on the night playing a lovely a set with only their Fender Acoustasonic. Their set started at an upbeat pace with songs such as ‘Last July' and ‘Purgatory' before getting slower and slightly sadder as the set went on.
Initially, when gigs first returned it was hard to know whether a show was really as good as it felt or whether the experience was heightened by the fact that you were just grateful to be out of the house and in the presence of friends.
