Celtic Connections: Lucy Rose, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Sun 19 Jan
For the last hour or so we’ve been completely under her spell but there’s laughter when Lucy Rose confesses, If you didn’t know already, my new record is really, really depressing.
Some times you go to a gig and it feels like you're sat in a room listening to a collection of stories rather than just being played some songs of said artists new album.
Suddenly it came for me, like a shock to the core, sang Lucy Rose somberly in the opening line of her first song, sighing piano ode to sadness Solo(w), priming an evening of stark introspection.
