Maybe that’s inaccurate: after all, bands like the duo of Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin are firmly a product of the modern age, their music and aesthetic a reflection of the contemporary world and its many splendorous technologies, mindsets and anxieties.
In the world of modern pop, few artists are more exciting than the up-and-coming duo of Magdalena Bay. The group consists of real life couple Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Levin, with Tenenbaum leading the groups' vocals and Levin leading production.
In their largest show ever played, Magdalena Bay guided the sold out Brooklyn crowd through their debut album, Mercurial World, in a gorgeously vivid array of color and sound.
Synth-pop duo Mica Tenenbaum (lead singer and songwriter) and Matthew Lewin (producer) dazzled the stage at Vancouver's Fortune Sound Club on September 28. Working together since their high school's music program, the pair formed Magdalena Bay.
