The band was formed in 1985 while the members were still in high school and was named after a children educational film. Mr. Bungle released four demo tapes in the mid to late 1980s before being signed to Warner Bros. Records and releasing three full-length studio albums

Mr. Bungle and Melvins' Sydney show was like playing an entire collection of music on shuffle in a haunted library. A blind date with multiple subcultures. Where things are going to get weird.
It has been a big week for Tāmaki Makaurau when it comes to shows, from Queens of the Stone Age, through to Blink-182, Mogwai and Dinosaur Jr., people have been spoilt for choice of what to see over the last few days.
The band also played three new songs that were written during the era of The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny demo but never were released. Of those tracks, Eracist was a standout in the set.
