Local three-piece Crawlin’ Hands (ex-Grand Union) had some technical issues with the guitar cutting out but ploughed through admirably and their bluesy, garage rock went down well with the growing crowd.
Arriving on stage, Sleepy Sun’s lead vocalist Bret Constantino shares with us the fact that this is the first time that he and the San Franciscan bunch of psych rockers he fronts have been in Sheffield.
The five-piece hailing from San Francisco have been making beautiful music together for the better part of a decade and this familiarity exudes from their tight performance.
When a stateside, bluesy, religious rock act make the top of the bill for yet another of Harvest Sun’s intriguing evenings down at the Kazimer, you are distinctly aware you may well be in for a trick or treat scenario.
Doors were at eight for this evening’s festivities, so I figured I’d just go and show up half an hour late for what I thought would be the start of an excellent show.
