We’ve all seen a few pretty half-hearted efforts in the past in among the success stories and now when I tell people I’m going to reunion show a lot of people shake their heads wisely and say They’ll never be as good as they were.
The prospect of swapping face time with presidents power nerds and Bono for touring UK venues again can’t have held much appeal – especially given his family’s recent tragedies.
Sir Bob seems to be on our televisions every second week talking about anything except music, while I Don’t Like Mondays has never left radio playlists in the 34 years since its release.
The Boomtown Rats are one of Ireland’s most important and influential bands and after their performance in Belfast’s Mandela Hall tonight it’s easy to see why.
