William Robert Young (born January 20, 1979), is a British singer and actor. He catapulted to fame after winning the inaugural UK Pop Idol contest in 2002.
It is funny when you think about what actually happens to TV talent show stars after their brief time in the limelight expires. There are very few that you even remember just a couple of years down the line, let alone hear of again.
It is hard to believe that twenty years have passed since Will Young won the inaugural series of Pop Idol, and began his journey which has seen him become a household name as a singer, actor, author and a mental health campaigner.
He’s created quite the safe space in the Symphony Hall tonight and it’s proven by people dancing even if it’s on their own just because they can. ‘All Time Love‘ is one of the slower songs for the night and the sound of the choir that is the audience joining is really something to behold.
With a stage adorned with metal platforms and scaffolding to accommodate his very talented five piece band and two backing singers, Will Young surprised the packed Royal Concert Hall last night by making an appearance from a six foot parcel that had been left on the stage, much to the delight of the crowd.
