Arrested Development is an Afrocentric Hip-Hop group, founded by Speech and Headliner as a positive, alternative to the gangsta rap popular in the early 1990s. It took the group three years, five months and two days to be offered a record deal.

Trailblazing hip-hop band Arrested Development brought their Greatest Hits Tour to Auckland’s Powerstation this Sunday night, celebrating what front man Speech described as 24 years of revolutionary hip-hop music.
On the very last beat of the group’s breakout single Tennessee singers Speech Tasha Larae and Fareedah Aleem raised their fists in the air and bowed their heads in unison bringing the band’s engine room of frenetic energy to an abrupt halt.
