The American musician’s 2009 glossy solo album Phrazes for the Young was well-received but soon forgotten while The Strokes’s last two albums were underwhelming.
The second the lights started to dim the crowd were already louder than they had been throughout the preceding two opening sets and as Casablancas waltzed out like a rockstar they proceeded to go certifiably nuts.
The darkened, but packed tent welcomed the Strokes‘ frontman and master song scribe with affection as Casablancas slid calmly into River of Brakelights off his 2009 solo debut Phrazes for the Young.
