Critic Consensus
Based on 39 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that Mutemath is rated as a watchable live performer, with decent shows overall. Mutemath concert reviews describe live shows and performances as energized, mesmerizing, electrifying, amazing, hypnotic, energetic, and spirited.
Mutemath is an alternative rock band which formed in New Orleans, LA, United States in 2003. They consist of Paul Meany (vocals, Rhodes, keytar, keyboards, samples), Roy Mitchell-Cardenas (bass, percussion), Darren King (drums, samples), and Todd Gummerman (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals).
Mutemath’s fifth album Play Dead was released in early September and the band’s tour in support of the new release made a stop at Philadelphia’s Fillmore on 9/19/17.
While the band’s cult-like following eagerly awaited what is one of the most energetic and hypnotic live performances of our time, they had the opportunity to witness some other amazing performers.
With nearly two months off since their last performance at Voodoo Fest (QRO photos) the New Orleans-based band shook off the cobwebs by digging deep into their older material and getting up and close with the crowd.
Mutemath are in town tonight on their national tour and as someone who’s been following them since their debut record back in 2006 I felt like this was going to be a special night – I thought they would have played a bigger venue.
