Okkervil River is an indie/folk rock band from Austin, Texas USA. Formed in 1998, the band takes its name from a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya.
Okkervil River hit the artsy upstate town on June 15th for the second to last date on their current tour after releasing their latest album, In the Rainbow Rain.
On June 7 Denver, CO’s Bluebird Theater was the scene of Okkervil River’s latest stop on a true international globe trotter of a tour that will take them across the pond soon, all in support of their new album In the Rainbow Rain.
With the weather warnings cutting into the stories I was listening to on Minnesota Public Radio, I was more than relieved when I got my car in the parking lot and found myself inside The Turf Club.
