New Zealand's own Super Group Six60 make a grand theatrical and triumphant procession to the centre of the pitch at Eden Park, to launch what is about to be a genuinely historic event for this country. It is being shared as a live-stream around the Pacific Basin and beyond.
This was the last phenomenal show of Six60's ‘SATURDAYS' tour, which included six shows in Aotearoa during Jan/Feb 2021. NZ is pretty famous for it's chilled, funky Summer gigs/festivals and this absolutely delivered for devoted Waikato fans.
An iconic New Zealand band by the name of Split Enz once sang a song entitled ‘History Never Repeats'; but in the case of Six60 it would appear that yes indeed it does, and quite successfully too.
Six60 and a steady stream of support acts battled poor weather to bring a chill, summer-vibe concert to Western Springs last night, where an otherwise-acceptable show seemed soured by an increasingly dislocated crowd energy.
SIX60 are one of the biggest acts in New Zealand period. They are the first local act to have ever sold out a stadium and play to 50,000 people which is a massive feat.
In the years since Six60 released their debut EP in 2009, the Dunedin five-piece have undoubtedly become one of New Zealand's most adored acts, renowned for their energetic live shows and a dedicated fan base.
