BBC Radio 6 Music also gave pretty heavy rotation to Let Your Dogtooth Grow, building up the anticipation of the album.
Halifax up-and-comers The Orielles headlined a thoroughly top night, with robust support from local favourites Babe Punch and Cherry Hex & The Dream Church.
The band are made up of Sidonie Hand-Halford on drums, her sister Esme on bass and vocals and guitarist Henry Carlyle-Wade, whom the sisters met at a house party just a couple of years ago.
To be labelled the best indie-pop act in Britain by Rough Trade is high praise indeed, especially considering the number of great bands around at the minute.; With two albums of the highest order under their belts, it's difficult to argue with the recent adulation bestowed upon The Orielles by the record shop.
