A squally night, presaging the storms to come, led to a wet arrival at the Islington Assembly Hall. It was a rushed arrival as well thanks to the vagaries of the Rail Network.
The Sheepdogs hail from the Canadian prairie city Saskatoon, the small capital of Saskatchewan which interestingly has given us Deep Dark Words, Kacy and Clayton, Colter Wall and Steph Cameron, all very fine Americana musicians.
The Sheepdogs may hail from Saskatoon, Canada but it's clear that their musical roots lay much further south The Allman Brothers and the whole early seventies ‘southern rock' scene based around Capricorn Records in Macon, Georgia are clear reference points. However, The Sheepdogs are no revivalists.
