Vintage Trouble have a new album out. It’s called Heavy Hymnal and they’re rightly proud of it.
Their youthful flair for performance was immediately apparent on their 2011 debut, The ‘Bomb Shelter Sessions’ and then peaked on ‘The Swing Acoustic Sessions’ (2014) and most recent chestnut ‘1 Hopeful Road’ (2015).
Stepping on to the stage at Shepherds Bush was a band who are completely happy with their music and completely in tune with their crowd without either stagnating or changing too radically.
The audience were suitably gobsmacked and for the next hour and twenty minutes the Taylor spun tippy-toed walked on the audience and generally did everything a soul showman is supposed to do – that his voice is so fine is almost icing on the cake.
