Richard Shindell (born 3 August 1960, Lakehurst, New Jersey) is an American folk singer. While dividing his time between Buenos Aires, Argentina, and New York's Hudson Valley, Shindell is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, and juxtapose ideas and images. Shindell's songwriting often involves storytelling from a first-person point of view.

“So, where were we?” asked Richard Shindell innocently Sunday at Bombyx in Florence, Mass., He sang “I remember everything” in “Geshsemani,” his first tune, then recalled one of his last live shows before the pandemic was at the nearby Iron Horse in Northampton.
